The Christian Meditation Journal - Meditation with Faith and Purpose

Many of us relate to physical healing, but did you know that spiritual healing is the key to your general health? God not only heals our bodies but our spirits too, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).

The foundation of healing for your spirit, soul, and body is recognizing that on the cross Jesus purchased healing for you. Thus, by his stripes, you were healed (1 Peter 2:24). This statement is in past tense because Jesus finished the work of healing on the cross. Today we claim healing in his name.

As much as you received healing as part of the salvation package, it is existent in the spiritual realm and you are to manifest it in the physical realm by your faith. To exercise your faith, there are certain action steps you must take. Your morning routine is a good place to experience spiritual healing.

How can you use your morning routine for spiritual healing?

1) Meditate on healing Scriptures.

To receive spiritual healing, know what God’s word says about healing. For a start, Psalm 107:20 says “He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.” God can give you a word that will heal a hurt that has tormented you for years.

2) Speak to your pain, emotions, and illnesses.

Jesus taught us to speak directly to our mountains and command them to flee without doubting and it will happen (Mark 11:23). Speak to your pain, disease, misery, fear and command them to go. Have faith that it’s a done deal and you will see the manifestation. Speak healing Scriptures over the unhealthy places in your spirit, soul, and body.

3) Have a gratitude session.

We are to pray and make petitions to God with thanksgiving for what he has done and will do. Thank him for healing. Gratitude lifts you from misery and hopelessness because you know that God hears your prayers and answers them. Thanking God reminds you he is at work in you bringing about healing and wholeness.

4) Casting your cares on the Lord.

There are times you have to trade in the bad for the good to see spiritual healing. Cast your cares, anxiety, hurts, and disappointments on God. He will give you beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3).

5) Exercise.

Nothing energizes our bodies and minds like physical exercises. For example, taking a morning walk will clear your mind and make room for divine wisdom to prevail. When God steps into the picture, you will have solutions and strategies for dealing with the issues that are troubling you.

Your morning routine prepares you for the rest of your day. When you address your dis-ease in the morning, you will have a healthy spirit, soul, and body and start your day right.
